ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Raj is a lawyer, author and anti-oppression activist, holding degrees in Biology, Politics and Law. She trained as a lawyer at one of London's top firms before becoming a senior advisor to tech start-ups on growth and expansion strategies. In 2022 she co-founded AutogenAI, which is now one of the world’s fastest growing AI companies.

Raj is also the founder of the globally acclaimed, award winning campaign, the Pink Ladoo Project. The Pink Ladoo Project is a global gender equality campaign dismantling patriarchy by encouraging South Asian families in the diaspora to abandon sexist customs and celebrate girls' births. The campaign has inspired the celebration of the birth of thousands of girls in South Asian communities across the world.

Her first book, Stories for South Asian Supergirls, was published in May 2019 and was selected as Children's Book of the Week and Children's Book of the Month by the Times and the Guardian respectively. It was acquired from Kashi House by Puffin (Penguin) in a multi-book deal in early 2021. Volume 2 of Supergirls will be releasing in 2025.

Raj is also the founder of southasiantherapists.org the world’s first global directory of South Asian therapists. The platform connects South Asians around the world with a South Asian mental health provider near them and is demystifying therapy and mental health for diaspora South Asians. The site launched in June 2020 in the height of the covid-19 pandemic and has quickly become the largest South Asian mental health community in the world.
